1)
HP Sauce - original gangsta
2)
Daddies Tomato Ketchup - better than Heinz to the condiment conniseur, plus big Shirley Crabtree used to endorse when it first broke on the scene, Rawkus Records underground-like compared to the Sony-esque Heinz Ketchup conglomorate
3)
Dave's Mad Dog Inferno - a staple of my subs and sandwiches during my Tallahassee adventure last year, I look forward to reaquainting myself with this fiery demon on my (*crosses fingers*) return in July. Guaranteed to leave you with an arse like the Japanese flag the day after.
Speaking of sauces and spices allows me to link nicely into a few mp3 cuts for your perusal.
First up is Richie Spice (did you see what I did there?), brother of Pliers (he of Chaka Demus & Pliers) fame. The ultra low budget vid for 'Earth A Run Red' is currently spinning reasonably frequently on Channel U, and the mix of grainy Jamaican market shots, and Richie looking like Brother James the S1W on a beach trip, makes the vid a must-see. The song meanwhile is simply smashing. Also tacked on here is the spiffing 'I Have Got You', Richie's summery use of the Lava Ground riddim.
Shut Up And Dance will mean little to US peeps. Those in the UK with half a brain however may well remember the awful 'Raving I'm Raving' track from the early 90s. They may also remember the Ragga Twins, who dropped the seminal
"Reggae Owes Me Money" on the SUAD label around the same time. Largely ignored by many because it was difficult to pigeonhole, the mixture of reggae, breaks, techno and dance music influences was a big hit with A to the L, who now presents you with a couple of the more famous album cuts. Sauce reference? Oh yeah - these are hotter than tabasco (ya little asshole).
Completing the quintet is Sugar Minott's 'Show Me That You Love Me Girl' a classic from the Channel 1 Recording studio vaults. Sauce reference, here? None actually, but I'm sure you'll be glad I included it.

Ragga Twins - Illegal Gunshot
Ragga Twins - Hooligan 69

That "Earth A Run Red" track is smooth. I gotta hear more!
I still cannot get that old Damian Marley cd out of my player - "Halfway Treet" - love everything about it except Drag-On's verse on track #3 - I think it's "Book Of Life"...stellar.
Any word on his new lp release?? (the one with the now overplayed "Welcome To Jamrock" - everyone has remixed it - Tony Yayo adds a verse on Sikamore's mixtape where he is really trying to ride this beat - but, he really really sucks bull cock...and should be permanently behind bars for that attempt.

I've been giving this Richie Spice album some serious play. It ain't half hot mum.
Apart from that I am wearing out Cypress Hill's first 2 albums and listening to old booty music.
Getting back in tune with my new / old / new home again, I guess ;)
